Default Cbr600 F2 Electrical Issue

Out riding my F2 one day and all of the sudden it just stopped running as if i had hit the kill switch on it. After getting it back home and locating the problem , the connection where the stator, rectifier and battery join ( under battery box ) had fused ( melted ) together. So , i'm sure i need to replace the stator and rectifier , but are there any other parts or electrical problems relatated to this or did one or both of those items cause this issue? Electrical systems are not my strongpoint and any info i can get on this will be extremely appreciated.

99% sure your rectifier went bad. Since your gonna have to redo all the melted stuff anyway, go find a Suzuki GSXR regulator/rectifier. It has a heatsink built into it so it doesnt torch like the stock Honda r/r. I just did this mod a few days ago and its much better.

The stator may have gone bad when the r/r went crazy, but its fairly stout. Change the r/r first, you'll probably be fine.

Thanks. I was hoping it wouldn't turn into a nightmare to find the source of the problem. Most of the connection damage was right where the stator connects to the harness but, I'll look into swapping out for the GSXR r/r since i have to replace the harness anyway.
