See if you can talk him down. The 1st gen CBR is a solid bike. As said earlier,just check it out real good.

just remember that with the f1, parts are not that easy to get a hold of. im battling with this problem now haha.

to the US folks commenting on what other models can be bought for - used bike costs in the US don't relate to what used bikes sell for overseas. It seems we again have a buyer's market here of affordable bikes due to their stature to many as semi-luxury items. Overseas a bike is a lot more likely to be ridden every day as primary transportation.

+1 on the blue F4/F - looks good, other than the nanner seat.
