CBR600 ECU Temp senser tech question..
Hi,
Could anyone please provide me with some info relating to the coolant temp sensor and its related wiring on the CBR600 F4 ?
I need this info to complete the installation of a CBR instrument panel on my project bike. (An 837cc VFR based track bike).
The CBR600 F4 uses a coolant temp sensor which provides engine temperature info to both the fuel injection ECU and the instrument panel.
This sensor has 3 pins, in a triangular arrangement, which according to the Honda wiring schematic should be connected as follows:
GREEN / BLUE – Sensor output to temperature input at instrument panel.
GREEN / ORANGE – To pin 1 of Plug B on the ECU – This looks like the ECU voltage output for the sensor, as it is also connected to the throttle position and MAP sensors.
PINK - To pin 18 of Plug B on the ECU – Which must be the engine temp reference for the fuel injection system. I will not be needing this one as VFR has carbs.
What I need to know is this…
1. Which wire colours connect to which of the 3 pins on the sensor ?
(Sensor viewed end on with single pin at top)
2. What voltage does the Injection ECU feed to the sensor(s) on the Green / Orange wire.
(Some systems like those on BMW’s use only 5 volt sensor supply).
Many thanks in advance,
Andy.
