CBR F2 all sorts of problems
I'm new to this site and just joined it to get some insight and learn I'm the type of person where I don't want to send my bike off to some random person I want to fix it myself and understand the problem witch is y I'm seeking help
Symptoms
I'm having a problem cold starting the bike I ha e to play with the. Choke a lot and usually I have to have it backed down to get it started imight add that its really stiff as well.
From a stop to first gear it bogs down intell I hit about 4-5k rpm than takes off mid - top end feels great
After I let go of the gas it holds a high idle usually around 5k and some times will slowly back down I usually have to let the clutch out a lil and hold the break to get it to go back down and a lot of the time it'll just go back up
Also I have to lube the throttle cable it doesn't move at all when. I release it this will be the first thing I do on Sunday when I get a day off

sounds like your carbs need cleaned. if you decide to do it yourself, take one apart at a time so if you mess up or forget where something goes, you have the others as reference.
make sure that your throttle cables are routed properly as well, could be pinched somewhere.

Yeah I started taking everything off I got the tank off after I filled it with 91 so draining it was fun
And got the air box off and found a new k&n air filter so that was good news tomorrow I'm pulling the carbs out
Throttle cable seems good doesn't seem pinched but the choke seem like its all gunned up and kinked by the handle bars so ill probably replace that

if its got a k&n filter it may not have been upjetted and is running weak ???
or they have jetted it to high ???
look to see what the jets are ; mine on a cbr600 1996 are 135 / 138 /138 /135 as they sit in the carb that is standard
or pilot jets are blocked or carbs want a good clean out,
sounds to me its running weak.

So before I could even get into the car when I pulled it off I found that a nipple near the throttle butter fly was broken off I don't know what there for it looks like there's four of them but I can't find any hoses for them so I'm at a toktal loss is my Carb completely bad now or what??
if you have a K&N air filter You will not need to rejet. If your worried about the Fuel/air mixture pull your spark plugs and look up how to read them they will tell you a lot about whats going on inside of your engine. one thing you can do before you rip apart the carbs is to run seafoam or techron fuel system cleaner through your fuel system, it cannot hurt either way.
When your at a stop light and you pull the clutch in the bike starts to sputter and die right? when your stopped and the bike is in gear with the clutch pulled in does your bike creep forward, or does it stay still.
Does the bike stick at that high idle of 5k is the throttle sticking or is it returned back to closed throttle.
The only reason I'm asking all these things is because they are all easily fixed without tarring into your carbs. Now the carbs sound like a big part of the problem and it cant hurt to clean them out; but there are other things that can affect that stuff as well.
Also how long have you had the bike and how many miles does the engine have one it, when was the last oil change?
I also want to add that your bike will like it more if you put 87 gas in there, the compression ratio isnt high enough where you need the higher octane and our tanks are so small that we get what ever the last guy bought if there is just an individual hose at the pump. So if you absolutely need to get a higher octane than find a pump where the price looks higher than normal and than get 87. If your getting the higher gas for the detergents in it than every 3-5 tanks add seafoam or techron to your fuel and you'll be good.

Great so I clean the Carb today and put everything back together with new plugs gaped at 0.036 and only #1&2 Carb is working 3&4 are doing nothing its got a rough idle and I gave a lil gas and it dies what could have gone wrong for this to happen plz help
So new update I pulled everything and checked a couple if things put it all backtigether and now all four carbs are working but under a load UT dies at Rev inless I slowly push the throttle than its responsive than all hell
Driving it it still bogs tell 4k than picks up like a bat out of hell but when I shift or hold the clutch it revs its self
Any ideas???
