Default CBR 600 FK rear brakes!

I have a 1989 CBR 600 FK that I am trying to get ready for MOT. My latest problem is sticking rear brakes. The back wheel is solid! I have removed the calliper, loads of penetrating fluid, pushed backed the pistons, put everything back together and as soon as I touch the rear brakes the wheel is again locked. The bike has been off the road for at least 3 years, will a regular journey up and down the road free sticking pistons or will I do more harm than good? Is there a quick fix for sticking pistons? It is a bit awkward as the bike has no MOT and is not road legal. What would you recommend I do?

The piston is probably corroded and hanging up inside the caliper. Or possibly the pads are worn down so far that the piston over-extends itself and gets stuck. Start throwing money at the problem and eventually it'll go away.

BLEED YOUR BRAKES. If thats never been done before then def def do it especially if its an 89. Check the pins those might be seized solid, a lot of people forget to check those and usually assume its the piston. If you were able to push the piston back in then more then likely its not seized.

Id say try to bleed your brakes first front and rear if its never been done. Check your rear brake pedal adjustment too. Then checking the sliders.
