Default Which Rear Brakes for My F4?

I got my bike inspected today, and while it passed I was told that this coming season I would need rear brakes. Well after looking through the service manual and an excellent how to video online it really is a joke to do and even easier than the fronts (which took 10 min per side taking my time).

On the front I have EBC Double H Sintered pads.. on the rear I can either do HH again or Organics.. now since the fronts do most of the braking I would assume that the fronts need to be the '(comparably) better' compound, but my experience comes from cars.

I think the part #s are FA174HH and FA174

The HHs seem to be about $11 more than the organics.. but price doesnt really matter at this price point.. more about which is the better choice for my application. I only street ride.. no track time.. want something that is quiet, stops well and will last.

Any opinions and experiences welcome.

Oh and the ride after 3 weeks of winter woes... was blissful..

Thanks

Glad you got a ride. One of my riding vids I titled "Bliss". ;-) Its 7 mi of some of the best mountain twisties you'd ever find.

I digress. ;-) Back on topic...

I'm using factory Honda brake pads both front & rear. Excellent quality & performance, & long wearing. I use 'em for street & track.

I've only used EBC's (front) pads once...won't use 'em again. After the first use, had an EBC front pad fracture/crack across an entire corner & broke off. Those pads came off immediately & were returned. Honda pads went back on. While I realize any manufacturer can have defects/failures, I've never experienced that out of the many sets of Honda pads over the years.

Hope you have much better luck. Good luck w/ your choice.

Are the oem Honda rear pads organic or semi metallic?
