cbr 125 shifting help
I am a new rider just bought a cbr 125. My problem is shifting gears up and down is really jerky. I did take the course and had no problems shifting gears but my bike is so diffrent I keep my revs up to shift and roll off the throttle like I'm suppose to and it still really jerky can someone help me to be more comfortable on my bike. I am about to give up on this bike but I love my bike. Help me please.
Let's assume your tranny is in good shape and it is not a trait of your bike. Is the chain adjusted correctly and is it in good shape? Other than that is it mechanically sound, the carbs are set right and stuff like that? is the throttle linkage within spec. If the bike is right, then it may be you. Honda would not sell a bike that is a really terrible shifting mess.
Next is maybe your hands and feet are too slow, everything is done almost simutaneously but in a particular sequence. Are you using too much clutch? Letting off the gas too much? Try keeping a little pressure with your foot for the upshift, then a split second before you squeeze the clutch you drop revs and as you are dropping revs start to release the clutch. It is all in less than a second.
Good luck and keep us posted.
