Hi, I've just bought a 1991 CB1 400 as my first step on the Honda ladder (had Italian up to now) but it needs some work cos it's 'been down the road'. To find out if the engine is ok I need to buy another L/H engine cover as the original got badly damaged. I'm really hoping that some wizard can tell me which covers (if any) other than a CB1 400 will fit it. i can see that there are several that look near on identical externally but I didn't want to guess that it could be that easy! So far I seem to have a choice from CBR 400RR/CBR600RR but then I realise that there were other differences between the NC23/27/29 versions so this is a cry for help really.
I'd be really grateful for any help here.

exactly right, but i've bitten the bullet and bought one on a sale or return basis (very kind of the vendor) so all will be revealed this week. Although gaskets are identical I have fingers crossed as I don't know if the internal dimensions are. The two part numbers for the covers are :- 1163-KT8-000 and 1163-KAF-000. Will post results up when it arrives. If someone does post an answer up now, well thanks, but it's immaterial now!

I never heard that term before CJ - if I can find out something that helps someone else in the future then that's good isn't it? or at least that's how it works on other Forums.
