Default carb sync troubles

so ive been trying to sync the carbs on my f3. cylinders 2 and 4 are pulling good vacuum. but 1 and 3 are really screwy. #1 is pulling way to much, and #3 is hardly pulling anything at all, and no matter how i adjust #1 it still pulls high.

before anyone asks, carbs are seated correctly, all the boots are tight and no air is leaking in through them, all hoses for the sync gauges are good. ive swapped the hoses to different gauges to make sure a gauge wasnt the issue. gauges have also been calibrated.
havent checked compression yet, but i doubt thats an issue considering how strong the bike runs.
any help or input would be great!

Did you bench sync them before you put them on the bike?

What happens if you adjust 2 and 4 to match 3? I've always considered 3 to be the master when syncing. I may be wrong in that, but it's always worked for me.

havent tried that, but it still doesnt explain why #1 is pulling 10-12 inches, and #3 is only pulling 1-2

i spoke too soon!
adjusted 2 and 4 to pull the same as 3, 3 came up and 1 came down to around where they should be. then just had to lower the idle about 20 times lol
2 and 4 were so far out of sync that it made 1 and 3 seem like the problem lol.
thanks!

Outstanding! Glad it worked out.
Our f3 carbs are sensitive little things aren't they?
