carb sync and then pilot screw?
I have just done my valve clearance check and I plan on doing a carb sync and setting the pilot screws on the carbs. I think it makes sense to do the carb sync first and then the pilot screws but that is just my guess. Anyone know for sure which way round to do it?
Thanks
Thanks
Correct, sync first and then adjust the idle. You'll need both a vacume sync guage/s and
a fairly accurate rpm guage. If you want to go from deep profanity to merely difficult,
get the right angle adjuster for the idle adjustment, as well.
One of these...Motion Pro - Pilot Screw Adj. Tool or similar.
Not absolutely necessary, but none the less, these are handy for the syncronization ...Motion Pro - Carb Adj Tool
Hope this helps, Ern

If you cannot get your hands on those tools.. There's another tool that will cost you 2 empty water bottles, some tape, and 2 rubber hoses to do the sync.. The shop I got mine synced at swears by it
Thanks guys,
Once I get the engine back together I'll be starting the carb sync then. I have the guages I need but I'll look into the adjuster tool. Struggling for lack of the right tool can be a frustrating experience.
