Default Canyon runs and high rpm

I like to run the canyons but it seems that im always at about 10 -13 thousand rpms for long periods of time. Is that ok for the bike. and how long can u usually run it at such high rpms. THanks

It wont hurt anything. Depending on what you mean for long periods of time. I run my bike at the track anwhere from 6500-Redline for 1/2 hour sessions. All day long, havent hurt anything yet, and probably never will. Just keep your bike maint. well and you wont have a problem. Hell 13 isnt even redline on your bike. Beat the hell out of it, that's what it's there for. It'll take it. I would guess extended wheelies are harder on motors than an occasional thrashing.

Yeah, he's right, between missed shifts or what ever, it'll stop when it's had enough. Mine redlines at 11k and because of my gearing it works better to run it to about 11700 on the front straight before i hit my brake marker. Just one less shift I make, probably actually slower, but I do it because, well.......ive never tried short shifting when I have overhead left. It'll be fine.

the bikes are meant to run that high...that's where the powers at and you shouldn't be lower than 8-9K at the track...so all down long screaming...you bike loves it...not this putt around town at 3-6K business...
