I have had my engine casings and covers cerakoted and when they were returned there was this bit......I have no idea what it is, does anyone recognise it as a part of a RRW engine and if so where the hell does it live?

It would probably help to know what year and model it came from?

 

Its a 98 RRW 900 engine

 

Translation CBR 900RR(W) on a 1998 plate (W was the year designation in Europe)

 

I have had a flick through the parts diagram and cannot see anything resembling that part!
