Default Cam Chain question

I got an ape cam chain tensioner and was wondering if i removed the cover that goes over the cam chain will oil spill out everywhere?,

Not sure what you mean by the cam chain cover. If you mean the chain guide that keeps the chain running flat between the cams, it's doubtful that oil could escape the engine unless the 900R is similar to the 1000F. In that bike there is a breather chamber directly above the cam chain and it's possible that oil could be flung up into it. The oil could then be pulled into the carbs and spit out the exhaust. It could also let the cam chain arch between the cams. I have no way of knowing if the would affect cam timing or chain life. The assumption is that not good things would happen with the guide gone. Engineers generally don't put things like that in an engine unless they are needed.

Of course, you may have an entirely different part in mind and none of the above has any relevance to your question.
