Breaking in Tires?

Breaking in Tires?
Hello All,
I heard that it is possible to ruin new tires by not breaking them in fast enough once you start to ride on them. I guess that when you start wearing off the mold release, if you don't strip it fast enough it can work its way into the tires causing them to be slick for their life span. Is there any truth to this?
Cheers!

Nope, never heard that one before. Just break em in, only thing I take notice of is not to go berserk on new rubber till their all warmed up & you gradually increase the lean over say about 10 clicks. The best tool to stop your tyres wearing out to fast is your right wrist.

Let's say the tires are being transported from the manufacturer to wherever via truck on a hot Summer day, and it gets sizzling hot in that trailer. Are all those tires now ruined? I think not.
But I agree with Pacemaker. Give it one real good initial heat cycle, and take it easy the first 100 miles/kilometers

I've never heard of that before.. They guy at my deaer tells me to take it easy for about 60 miles or so, but I know when the tire is broken in enough to push it a little bit more..I just hit up my favorite roads (taking it easy to break in new tire) and just as pacemaker said, Increase the leanage a bit more and more and wear off those chicken strips.
