Brake Bleeding
I installed some Goodridge SS braided lines on the front of my bike (93 600 F2) yesterday. I obviously had to use the new banjo bolt at the master, but I re-used the stock botls with new washers at the calipers. I tightened all the banjo bolts to 20 ft lbs per Clymer, and bled the brakes. I bled both sides for a good bit of time, but there are still small puffs of bubbles coming out of the line, and the lever feels a bit soft. I couldn't see any leaks. How long does it normally take to get all the air out? I took a test ride, but didn't go over 20MPH and the bike stops, I'm just not sure if the lever is as firm as it used to be. Can anyone give me some pointers on what I should look for or try? Thanks in advance for your help!
you'll be pumping forever, or feels like, seriously! i think for mines, i stopped counting after 3000 pumps!
you have to keep pumping until all the big bubbles are out and the little ones gone too.
do you have a mity vac? they totally help in priming the line and removing air bubbles.
as far as 20 ft.lbs...it's too much...with the new parts supposed to be around 12 ft-lbs...as the new stuff is softer than the old...but as long as it's not leaking and nothing has broken, just leave it as is...but just remember for future reference...
and continue to bleed...

most autoparts store has the mity vac...
it's like $40 bucks...a must for priming the brake lines with fluid, unless you gots a lady with mad suction...

after that...it's all about speedbleeders!

I also recommend as an alternative is zip tying the lever about 3/4 to the grip, leave the cap loose and come back in the morning and presto it is rock solid. I have the mighty vac and have/do hundreds of car brakes/clutch systems and I will be damned if I can find some bikes that almost refuse to blead out. This trick works everytime.
yea i did my lines yesterday. . . .totally sucked it felt like i was bleeding forever. . . .even with a pnuematic fluid evacuator it still didn't get all the stuff out and had to go back to regular bleeding. . .but the lever is rock solid now and so is the foot pedal for the rear
