Default To BMC or to not BMC

I've been meaning to grab an aftermarket filter for the bike. Im wondering which I'd be more happy with... K&N or BMC ? I've heard a lot of people swear by the BMC Race Filter over the K&N Stock replacement. Just wondering wether by fact or in your own opinions, which one I will be more happy with. Is the BMC filter rechargeable like the K&N ? I also have yet to grab a Power commander chip. Wondering now that I have a S/O exhaust and now will be grabbing a new filter... if it's even more important to grab a power chip now? I rode the bike yesterday for nearly two hours, it was about 93 degrees and VERY HUMID. I noticed that the bike felt a little chokey, not quite as crisp as it usually is. Would a filter help this? What about the PCIII ? Thanks guys !

BMC! basicly all a KN is, is a cleanable stock filter, I know alot who have had them and say they are no different except they cost the same as 100 stock. My .02

Unless you're gonna actually race the bike for $$ I'd stay stock. If you plan on keeping the bike for a lot of years then a K&N would be a good investment. The stock filters aren't like the ones 20 years ago -- these babies are designed to let air move. The BMC's that are designed to flow more air than a stocker have been suspected of letting in impurities -- o.k. if you're gonna tear it down before the next race but not so good in the real world.

A Stock BMC filter is a four layer filter ( just like a K&N ) the BMC Race is a two layer filter and flows a lot more air , but you have to clean it twice as often. A PC3 on a stock bike with no mods would be an improvement . Add mods and a map , youve got yourself a new bike

The reasoning behind is good too, didn't take that into consideration. [sm=pcwhack.gif]
