Default Blown starting circuit fuse

Blew the 10a fuse. Replaced it. All is OK now. :-) Probably will come back. Any common things that cause this problem?

Default RE: Blown starting circuit fuse

A blown fuse, dead battery, or burnt wiring indicates a short. However a fuse can blow from old age or vibration. If it happens again, current is flowing directly to ground without resistance of a load. It has to be fixed. Often a pinched wire is touching ground. A self-powered test light (under $10), also called a continuity tester, works good to find a short. But only use it on circuits that have no power, by disconnecting the battery. Disconnect all grounds and connect the clip to ground. Probe all connectors. Any circuit that has continuity contains the short.
