Your leaking oil inside your motor. Your gona have to take the motor apart and replace the gasket thats leaking.

Man, I would only hope with 4K miles that you'd have some kinda warranty on the beast. If not... then sadly, yes, Nauree is right. Oil is getting into the combustion chamber... and if at a quart ever 1K miles, it's practically drinking the stuff in my book! I'm trying to remember what gaskets are effected primarily on Decel (since that's where you notice the smoke the most), but it's not coming to me. I lean towards potentially piston rings, but with such low miles, and without the "puff" that comes when you hammer the gas ON, I'm not convinced. I might tend to lean closer to the Valve guide seals going bad... that low of miles is just gettin' me though! (thing either just got a lemon part, or it's been neglected/hammered? Could be either way)

You and your buddy need to find out to the area Honda rep is and contact him. If both your bikes are doing it then others have to be as well. That is very low miles to have a problem. My 2000 F4 with 29Kdoes not even smoke or burn oil.

Nearly 11K miles on my 07 600, no smoking, no burning, runs like the day I bought her.... (well, if you were to take away all the "fun" mods.)

Wish i was a motorcycle tech. Umm is there a lot of oil in your air filter box? Could be pulling too much out of your valve cover, that could be more minor. Also and maybe some one could correct me if im wrong, but dont these have valve guide seals? If you have a blown one that would be considered a much more minor fix for ya. Wish i knew more, but best of luck to ya.

Anything requireing the motor to be pulled is automaticly a few hundred dollars just to pull and find the problem.

do a compression check and a leakdown check justto get more info to post for all the smart people that read these posts.

But I think you may have one or more bad valve seals, maybe not rings.
