Default blinking oil symbol.. ?

* this is prolly a noob question...

When i turn the key on my 01 600 f4i (just the electricals are on) the oil symbol pops up and starts flashing.

is this something i have to worry about? i wouldnt know if it goes away when the engine is on because my bike isnt running right now.

no one knows what this symbol means??? i dont have a manual! i looked at the online manuals and couldnt find out what it means.

Don't know about your bike specifically - but its an oil pressure light in cars and my f3. It'll flash to show you its working and needs to go off when its running. Without it running I wouldn't know if its a problem or not.

Don't have digital gauges. But on my F3 with the ignition on, the oil light remains on until I start the bike. Then it goes off.

Wait till she's up and running to see

It's an oil pressure light..... engine off = no oil pressure, hence the light (and that means it's working properly). Once you start it up it'll go out
