Bike wont start
I rode the bike home from work yesterday. 99 900RR. Hot as hell day, drove fine, went to take it to work again today and it starts fine, then seems to run the bowls dry (just a guess, I havent checked) and dies. Now wont start. It ran fine when I parked it. Any guesses? Im open for any help. Im going to pull tank off right now and have a look but thank you in advance for any help. If I figure it out I'll post back up. Thanks again.

RE: Bike wont start
hey man i just found this thread, what did it happen to be... mine actually started doing that, and it wont start for a little while, i dont know if its a fouled plug or something to do with the fuel, or even the battery, anyways i was trying to start it for like a half hour, and then the battery did start to go, so i had to pop start it.

RE: Bike wont start
It stands to reason if you could still push start it, it wasnt a fuel issue. I took my tank off and pulled the petcock apart and found the diaphram stuck so no gas was flowing. Reseated the diaphram and all is good with the world. I can only speculate that when sitting outside in the hot sun all day and then riding home, somehow it creates a vacume inside the petcock that sucks it shut and cant be overcome by the vacume hose feeding it. That is just my guess to my problem. Yours however seems to be maybe a week battery. If you can push start a bike then it is obviously getting gas, as well as spark. If when you're cranking it and it wont start, the battery might not be putting out enough juice to fire the coils.
