Bike stays In LA while I go to NY
hey guys, so I will be leaving my 2006 F4i in Los Angeles when I move to new york for school, it will be sitting for 2 - 4 months at a time before I return and ride it on breaks. Is there anything I should do so that my bike won't die? My dad said he can start it and let it run every week or few days (he can't really ride it, he doesn't know how exactly), but is that enough? I know theres something i can put in the gas tank to help stabilize the fuel (i forgot what) and i could get a battery tender, what are your guys' takes on this? What can i do to save my baby and look forwards to riding a functional bike!? Thanks!

Sounds like you have the right idea already ...
Throw a fuel stabilizer in the tank .. ( you local motor shop will have one )
A tender is a great way to save the battery..
Starting her for 10 min every week will help allot !!!
IMO ... drain the tank down to a minimum ... get your dad to pop a fresh few liter's only ,into her every mth... and that way she will be quite happy in the fuel department when you get back ..
have a safe trip mate !!

Yep, add seafoam (or another stabilizer like stabil), fill the gas tank to the top, hook up a battery tender. That's all you should need to do!
The reason for filling it is to get rid of any air gaps in the tank. Air gaps and condensation is why tanks get rust spots. Ethanol in fuels attract water.. hence the stabilizer and fill up.
