Post Bike only stays on with the choke on

To keep it simp. I got a 900 a while back and during the cold I let it sit at the parents garage for a while. I recently tried starting it, it will start and idle warm with the choke on but shuts off when i give it gas or when i shut the idle off. I called a repair shop to get an idea of whats wrong and was told the carbs might be clogged. Anyway if anyone can give me a second opinion that would be the shiznit thanx in advance

I had this same problem last year. I found that there is an sub-air cleaner box that comes off a hose between carb 2/3. It has a foam filter that was destroyed and it was sucking that crap into my carbs.. I replaced it with a filter form autozone (lawn mower filter worked perfect), then used tons of carb cleaner and blasted them out, drained float bowls, and presto! Bike had no issues after that.

I'd give that a shot, if that doesn't work then you'll need to have your carbs sync'd up.

Let me know how it goes!
