my first bike many years ago was 600f2 I then went to a 954 loved it and wish I never sold it, I havent ridden in a few years and was looking at 09 600 but am wondering will I wish I had a 1000 after owning the 954. I dont go to the track or race, just daily commuting and the occasional quiet back road to open it up.

 

.... test ride a newer 600 and a new 1000 ... see which one fits you best ... i'm leaning towards you liking the 1000 better after having a 954 ... but I couldn't tell you which bike would fit you, that's all up to you and what you like ...
