Everyone is going to have an opinion. I like the Carbtune tool. It's probably on the high end, but I also plan to have it for many years. I've used it on all 3 of our CBR's and will do again soon.

I made my own when I had my katana. Cost me about 5 bux to make. All you need is about 10 feet of vacuum hose, quart of trans fluid and 2 glass bottles.

Sounds like the perfect price! Did you have any pics of it by any chance?

If you are really really broke, You can do it the old fashioned way. Use two allen wrenches that are the same size, sit one down in the main carb to hold open the flap (the carb that controls all the others), then use the other one to set them all to the same height. Not the best way to do it, but it does work. And cost nothing.

If you can afford it, go with something like Dirt posted. But I know sometimes money can be a big issue, and you just can't spring for the good stuff at the time you need it.

No I don't but can explain it. It's so simple to make.
Get 2 glass bottles with metal tops(yoohoo bottles) drill 2 holes in each top just big enough for vacuum hose to fit in. Tape bottles together. Take a piece of your hose and one end in one bottle and the other end in the other bottle. Take one hose and put in one bottle(goes to one carb) do the same for the other. Now fill each bottle about half full of trans fluid.

Now you can use the 2 open ends of your hoses on the carbs. When synching the carbs, watch the fluid. You want the fluid levels even in each bottle an as long as the fluid isn't moving and even in the bottles, the carbs are synced!

Makes sense! But I'm really not broke at all I just don't wanna spend money if I don't have to, I'd like to get a nice tool for this I'd pay 100 bucks for it even but not if I don't have to is all. I was just curious where my money will be most effective cause I've heard some gauges are inaccurate and that's not worth money..

I could see paying a decent amount of money for a tool that you will use time and time again. I can't justify spending 100+ bux on something that you will only use a couple of times.

True its spendy but it'll get used a lot so it makes life easier. Like my vacuum brake bleeder, 40 bucks but it makes bleeding brakes a breeze..
