Default bad stator

Has anyone used Royal Purple oil in their bike? I switched over to it last summer, and about a month later my stator was fried. I put a new stator in, and it was charging good. I only rode it for a couple weeks before winter and it worked fine. Now this spring it isnt charging again, and the stator is bad. Just wondering if something in the oil is eating at the insulation on the stator windings. May just be something else in the charging system, maybe regulator. The bike is a 01 929rr. Any one else have this problem? Thanks

Default RE: bad stator

I had that problem om my 05 1krr. Turned out it was a defective magnet on the fly wheel. Honda covered the whole thing. They said they had a problem with 04 and 05 but not a big enough problem for a recall. So I'm not sure about your bike. It's worth checking into.
