Bad shock? Replace or rebuild?

the guys name is Jamie, he does a ton of custom machine work and his work is top notch.
he quoted me $90 for a rebuild, $210 for rebuild + new valve, and $300 for rebuild + new valve + new spring
the valves/springs would be specifically for your weight.
youre pretty much going to end up with a brand new shock.
if youre wanting to get any work done from him do it now, he gets swamped in the spring.
