Bad Petcock?
I was at work today and my wife called me in a panic saying gasoline was leaking out of my bike, 93 900RR, in the garage, so much so that she called the fire dept. They came out and tried to turn off my fuel by the valve and it would not stop leaking, so the guy turned it to reserve then back to off and then it stopped leaking. I have been having trouble with the bike stalling and not getting gas, i thought it was the fuel pump. Could my petcock be bad and would that cause my bike to stall at times and not at others? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated cause now i'm confused. Thanks.
Do those have a fuel pump? They must. My 99 was doing that and it was the vacum portion of the petcock that had a cut in the diaphram. Replaced it and works great. Even better actually as it fixed the vacum leak.
