Default bad mechanics

does anyone else have the problems getting their bike back from the shop. This is the second shop that i have taken my bike too and was told about a week. The one that has had it know has done some work on it, then the mechanic quit and the guy that took over doesn't know what the last guy done. Are there good repair shops for bikes out there.

Like lawyers and cops 99% of bike mechanics make all of 'em look bad. If you don't have the time or are nervous about working on your on ride ask local peeps who they use.

back in 2000 my zx6r had a ticking so i took it to a shop. they told me it was the cam chain tensioner. they rebuilt or reset the cct and charged me $80. 30 days later the ticking comes back, so i take it to the shop. now they say i need a new cct, the old one isnt any good any more $80 + new cct. another 30 days later ticking comes back, now they say the motor need to be rebuilt and everything needs to be replaced including the cct they put in 30 days ago. i tell them to **** off but have to pay them another $40 because they looked at it.

nothing that should have taken over a day actually. The jetting was messed up by the last shop and the bike has a phantom problem of dying. By phantom i mean that it dies on me and my girlfriend and know it doesn't for the mechanic

Definatly talk to some local riders in your area. See where alot of them take their bikes. Sometimes word of mouth is the best source of info.
