Default Bad Ballast or HID Bulb?

Both my my HID bulbs don't work. I've had these for about 6 months. I ordered them from DDM tuning.

I do not know if the ballast or bulbs have gone bad. When I start the engine, the HID bulbs flicker, but do not turn on. At first I thought it was a wiring issue, but then I put in my halogen bulbs and they work fine.

Is there a way to tell if the ballast or HID bulbs are bad?

If they flicker and go out I would bet it is the lamps instead of the ballasts. I have seen where the glass will crack and prevent the lamp from fully igniting.

More than likely the ballast. The bulbs are usually work or don't work. DDM supposedly has a lifetime warranty

What lamps? You mean the bulbs? They do not appear to have any cracks in them.

The high beam stopped working first. And then the low beam stopped working like half an hour later after riding.

So, I'm thinking its the ballast too..... But I do not know how to confirm this.

Not sure. HIDs work by arcing in a gas. If the glass is broken the gas escapes and there should be no light whatsoever.

You could either test it with a known good bulb - or a known good ballast. Shouldn't matter though, DDM should replace the kit.

Did you touch the bulb when you were installing them? Oil from your fingers could cause the bulbs to fail.

Yea i'm emaling ddm tuning right now. They told me to do a direct battery test and it confirms that its something wrong with the ballast/bulb, not my harness. I'm just waiting on them to respond back now.

Nope, I wore gloves while installing the HIDs.
