Default Analog to Digital Gauges?

I am doing my front end swap and realize that my bike currently has analog gauges and speedo. What I want to know is, how hard, if possible, is it to convert to digital gauges, say, those from a 600rr or similar? I know some things like the fuel gauge will not work since I don't have one at all, but how about everything else?

I dont know Rrasco, the speedo is driven off of a speed sensor in the trans, and the tach runs off of the ECM and combi sensor. The tach maybe you could get to work splicing into an ignition source, similar to what you would do on a car. The speedo though im not sure how you could get a reading, since im pretty sure yours runs off a cable instead of sensor (however i could be wrong on that). If it is off a sensor you can probably get it to work.

I was doing some reading and have *read* that you can use f4i gauges, a speedo healer, and the sensor off of a gsxr. The temp gauge is supposed to work if you get the f4i sensor too. That is my main concern, is the whole cable driven speedo.

I can definatly see the temp not being an issue, it just reads amperage as it gets hotter, the amps change, so you just need to get the right signals sent to the gauge. I didnt know that the gsxr signal was taken off of the balance shaft. I always thought the old speedo was gear driven and the new style used a reluctor ring for a reading. I could very easily be wrong on that count. Im not a bike guru at all, im a car junkie with some mechanical ability . i Guess i would send the guy who did the conversion an emal and see what info you can get from him, see if the transmission in yours is the same setup. If it will read off the balance shaft, pop out your cable and stick a light in there and see if you have clear access for the sensor to drop in, and if you can bolt it down, or have room to drill and tap a mounting hole that wont interfere with any internals. Usually with the right amount of $, time, and patience anything can be done, just whether its worth it or not.

What is the balance shaft? When it comes to speedos, I know ZERO! Also, do you have any clue what temp sensor I would need? I see two on ebay, one is an 'air sensor' that goes in the airbox. The other is listed as a 'temp switch'.

Why dont you look at some universal magnetic speedos. Koso is a good brand.

Price. I can get a set of F4i or RR gauges for around $100, a nice pair of aftermarket gauges would run $300+. Thanks though, they do make some nice ones. The only other ones I had seen were by Veypor.

I've installed a Koso gauge on my F2 and it works wonderfully. Very simple without trying to mix and match parts. It comes with everything you need.
