altered trans gear
Anyone know how possible it is to replace, alter or have a gear made to make 6th gear higher? like the torque with the bigger sprocket but hate running 6500rpm on the highway.....
so your bike runs fine, you just dont like running at 6500 on the highway.... i think its much better for you to get used to that rather that alter the transmission on your bike. your bike can run 6500 all day long and your not gonna get much better mpg if your trying to get down to like 5500
Front Royal, Va. The 900 engine isn't ah high rpm *** a f3. Its working pretty hard at 6500-7000. I commute to work and want to take me bike sometimes. The engines getting rebuilt now, I don't want to trash it. A few houndred for a gears good piece of mind.

It might be less expensive to pick up a second drive hub for the rear wheel... and run a "stock" sized spocket on it. Then on stunt days drop the axel and flip hubs...just a thought. About the only issue with this will be the length of the chain...so stock may be too small, but closer to stock may work.

after reading the thread again i now see your dilemma.
you could jeryy rig a rear sprocket gear changing system that could go between stock rear size and your new larger sprocket...... not reccomended unless your an engineer of some sort. this would be the best solution to your problem
bring the 6th gear from your tranny to a machinist and have him make one of a different size... gonna cost money
im sure you can get a gear made but ull have to go into the tranny get it out and bring it to a machinist and he can make you one that will make 6 run lower rpms. that will cost alot of money
or do what someone above said and just swap the sprockets on stunt days (if you are a stunter) and riding days.
this problem is why alot of stunters have a stunt bike and a riding bike
