Alarm
I've been thinking about doing a remote start alarm on my bike for a little while now (03 f4i). I am an installer so I know what I'm doing when it comes to hooking it up but was wondering if I'm overlooking anything that anyone can think of. First the remote start portion. It seems to me that Honda has already taken care of the safety issue on this by not allowing it to start or run with the sidestand down and in gear. To use the remote start I would have to be parked on a level surface with the bike in neutral. It would also have a brake wire hooked up so if somewhere were to press either brake lever it would shut off.
For the alarm part I was thinking about doing the standard shock sensor and then also add in a mercury switch, and also do a pin switch. The mercury switch would be set so while on the sidestand it would be normal but if the bike were sat upright it would set the alarm off. I would also have a pinswitch under the rear seat so if somebody where to open it up somehow it would set off the alarm. The alarm will also have sarter kill so if it is triggered there will be no way to start the bike.
The final part of the install I'm planning to do is add an actuator to unlock the rear seat. This will be set up similarly to the trunk pop on a car. If I do this I would also be able to remove the lock cylinder for the rear seat.
Let me know if you guys see any problems with this or any logistics issues that I am overlooking. Thanks for any input.
