Just bought a bike with only 1 key. What's the best way to get duplicates made?

 

Take your key to a hardware store like Ace and ask if they can make a duplicate. When I took my key in they said they couldn't do all bikes, but they found the right one for me. Cost me $5 for 2 keys at Ace Hardware.

 

My bike I bought used only came with 1 hardware store type key and I had a hard time finding a blank at a hardware store so I had to get one at a locksmith whick he cut from the one I had. These keys did not work so good I had a hard time wiggleing it in the cylinder to work. I stumbled on a site on the internet that cuts them by code and they look just like OEM and work like OEM. The code was under the gas cap due to the fact the key I had was not OEM and did not have a code. The keys were expensive but worth it. Just google (code cut honda motorcycle keys)

 

a actual locksmith store will have the keys to cut a few dupilates.

 

Your local factory Honda shop should have factory blanks & cut a new one for you. Should be around $11.
