Default 99 F4 Bogging down after riding awhile.

hey all,

My bike is starting to frustrate me alot lately.
When i'm riding in areas with alot of intersections, my bike seems like it's about to die at every single god damn light.

Example - Light turns red ahead of me, I slow down and come to a stop. About 30seconds into me stopping, the bike's idle starts to spike up and down From normal at about 1500 up to 1800 then down to like 1200. Light turns green and I'm ready to go, but the bike's tach is jumping up and down REALLY bad at this point.

I'll rev it up and start going, and after the clutch catches, the bike will BOG and cut out and back on until I get it up to like 5-6k rpm. Then it's fine for the rest of the way until the next light.

It's gotton to the point where I'm revving it to 5k and burning the **** out of my clutch JUST to keep it from dying when I'm leaving an intersection.

My bike wasn't acting like this back in April. I'm thinking it has to do with the heat affecting the bike, because this happens alot more often when the fan kicks in. Not sure if the two are related though.

Let me know what you guys think about it, sorry for the long read Thanks!

This sounds like the beginnings of gunked up dirty carbs.
It may be time for some cleaning.
I would like to hear other explanations also.

Thanks Brock.

I dunno though, could the fans have anything to do with it? It only really bogs down when the temperature of the engine gets so hot that the fan needs to turn on.

Maybe they are sucking power away from the engine?

Have you checked the amperage of your battery to see if its holding a really good charge?
Your air filter clean?
