Default 99 cbr 900rr 1 of 4 carbs blowing?

so finally get my bike back together and thought running. So i had two valves that where messed up, one was to tight and one to loose, i got the new shims needed put them in. timed it, put wires plugs etc back in. Went to go get it running, then the first carb seems to push the gas out, while the other three work properly and suck etc.. any ideas what this might be and how to fix it?

My first guess would be a stuck needle. you may a piece of dirt between the needle and seat and its not shutting off the fuel when the bowl is full. It could also be your floats not adjusted properly, but they dont just go out of wack for no reason, so I would suspect the dirt.

umm i dont think its even the carbs now. like it shoots the gas at least 1-2 feet out of carb #1... maybe valves stuck open? does this help a new diagnoses for me?

Interested to see what is causing the problem. Sounds like you possibly have a float stuck open to be dumping that much gas. I looked at a guys bike that would dump about a quart to half gal of fuel out the carbs when the choke was on. Figured it was due to a choke plunger that failed. Anyway, try running the bike with a fuel reservoir so that you can see what is actually happening with the #1 carb. I have seen some guys make them from a milk jug or you can by the motion pro (which is what I did). These allow easy access to the carbs which with can allow you to get a look at the #1 carb. Sounds like you're gunna have to wear safety glasses while you're at it.

When you fixed your two valves, was it on the the same cylinder that the faulty carb is on?

How much gas is coming out? Is it a fog of gas or a steady stream?

have you had the carbs apart?

My next step would be to do a compression test. This will tell you if you indeed to have a valve that isnt closing all the way.

Im still leaning towards your needle not closing all the way on that particular carb though.
