Hi everyone.
I have a 1998 cbr600 with 27000 miles. I have a constant ticking noise from the engine. When I first start it the noise isnt so bad but once its warm it get pretty loud. The higher i rev it the faster the ticking goes. If i rev it real fast I really cant hear it but im not sure if its just other noises bleeding it out. I was reading on some forums and came to the conclusion it was the cct. I bought the ape cct put it in but it still ticks. its coming from below on the left to the middle of the engine.I called to see how much the shop here will charge to do a valve adjust and I really dont want to pay a few hundred dollars to get the valves adjusted especially if that isn't even the problem. Here is a link its not great but it will give you an idea of the sound.

stuck valve. exhaust leak at the cylinder head. guesses.

 

Sounds like it needs a valve adjustment to me, 27000 clicks, has it ever had the valves done ?
