Default 954 rr help

now i assume this is the fi light but im not a professional so lets start at the begging i have a 2003 954 rr with 28k miles it runs amazing i ride daily i was coming home from work hit a hard bump as i was coming into a turn and it sputtered i seen the light but i slipped the clutch gave it some gas and it cleaned up and idled fine im like a mile from the house so i rolled off came to a stop light the bike was running at 210 which is normal in town it shut off ... with the red light on i started it back up it fired right up and i babied it to the house once i started it back up tho no red light but i babied it home anyway got it home checked all fluids its full of fresh everything and sat there and idled fine fan came on and everything im stumped here and would like some input

i would check your fuel filter

Might have a loose wire somewhere.

ok so i fixed the lose wire issue today i noticed a ticking/tapping noise from the side of the engine where the cam chain is when you rev it up to about 4k it also makes a weed eater string sound like when its spinning anyone ever heard this?

sounds like a tensioner issue. does it rattle?



if it's a definite tap or tick that is very consistent with your rpms - it could be a different story.



but if it's kind of intemittent and it's loud around 4k rpms - very rattling - i'd say it's most likely that your CCT that's failed

that was my thought as it does have a ratting noise to it at rpms but it runs great the ticking/tapping could just be me picking and trying to find something wrong as it it a noisy engine naturally so would you recommend a stock cct or go to a manual one?
