Default 95 CBR 600 F3 hiccups

so recently ive been riding my bike and it started to hiccup. i took it home and let it rest for a while (at least 2 weeks before i got back around to it) when i started it back up it didnt have any problems. then after going for some rides (roughly 300 miles later) im heading back home one day and it starts hiccuping again. I suspect the carbs but why would it have stopped for awhile and suddenly started having trouble again. im about to take the bike apart to clean the carbs but if its not that i dont know what to do. the bike used to be used for trick riding by the previous owners but i dont do that. other threads mentioned the clutch but it feels like gas isnt getting to the engine when it hiccups. i cant give a specific speed which it does it at because my speedo isnt accurate and i just changed the oil. im at a loss and i dont feel like having my bike apart forever its my only vehicle!

i need advise... but i have to do the work myself... i dont have the money to take it to someone.

might be the fuel pump contacts . .mine was fine then acted up then was fine now its just unrideable, you can get the contacts on ebay for like 57 total and the parts people are based out of arizona so it wouldnt take long to get them . . .pull the pump out and remove the little plastic cover and see what the points look like . . . .does the bike rev just fine? but when you demand fuel it like falls on its face?

well it rev fine usually but one time i was testing how it acted with the clutch engaged and it didnt rev at all! but then i tried reving it again with the clutch engaged at a stop sign it reved fine. also when it didnt rev when the clutch was engaged the oil pressure light blinked on for a sec and then turned off. that was just an hour ago when i took it for a test ride to see if it was still acting up before i started taking it apart.

yeaaaaa maybe check them stupid lil points in the fuel pump . .i just put mine in last night and the thign runs like a scalded dog. but i had that issue it would be fine revving and at stop signs but while riding it was worthless . . i also had a slight kink in my fuel line(i figured this out after my new fuel pump points) it still ran much better but as you say it hiccuped every now and again . . .these bikes a picky ive noticed any small little kink in your fuel hose will cause it to run terrible. . . .try checking those and lemme know

so i pulled the fuel pump and i looked at those points you were telling me about and they look really nice... everything inside the plastic part looks clean. but i bought a rebuild kit for the pump and i dont know how to disassemble the pump more than just the plastic half. im debating weither to pull my carbs and clean them myself or spend the money to get the bike dyno'd. i hope something fixes it.

I'm trying to envision the "hiccup" you describe ,,Sounds like a ignition pickup sensor on the cdi /ecu side or an interruption of the coils firing on the ignition side . A crack / pin hole/ clogged vacuum line would cause a stumble ,, as I found out a vent line was filled up with mud from a mud dauber wasp and causing a surge then a stumble when I got to about 40-45mph . I hate those insects . HHHmmm something to think about.

the other part of the pump you do not rebuild . . . .you can take it apart though with some channel locks and pry the little tabs apart and pull it apart i did it with mine and alls it is is 2 little rubber diaphragms with a washer inbetween them. i dont think you need to check those but if you do for god sakes be careful putting the top piece back on and make sure the little rubber guys are perfectly in place otherwise it will leak and not pump correctly lemme know how it goes
