94 CBR1000f Rectifier Swap?
Had a prob with my 94 F, acted like fouled plug, changed, still the same, change just the wire and made it about 80% better. Lacks power in first gear cruisn areas like a paddock or such. Someone said to replace rectifier with a yamaha one.. anyone ever heard of this? Went to Buttonwillow with a group that was doing a track day and it was acting like no power when just idling around.. As well want to possibly put different pipes on it and other things to enhance its natural power.. I had a 93 that was a screamin little bancheee and this one is more like a powder puff.. too soft n gentle.. email me at oneclassic_70@yahoo.com if you have suggestions ..thanks

A flat/low battery will give poor spark at low rpm (bike isn't charging) and cause it to sputter and surge.
The rectifier on honda's has been an issue - well - not just hondas. The have used a primative rectifier that creates a lot of heat, and unfortunately, rectifiers hate heat.
You can swap with OEM, either new or from a junker and see if that helps.
What I am planning on doing next however is a conversion to a more modern and stable recitifier.

The rectifier being discussed is found on:
"Best widely available R/R on the market today is the Shindengen FH012AA used on the late (06+) Yamaha FJR, 07+ Yamaha R1, 08+ Honda CBR100RR among others "
The links basically discuss how to modify the wiring harness to install one of these R/R - and how you may have to modify the fins to make it work. The end result is you should have a cleaner and possibly more powerful charging system.
