Well, i am buying a 929rr. the bike had been wrecked before but simple cosmetic damage. owner before rode it for about two years and it started to have some problems. the bike shuts down like something is getting to hot like the ignitor or something and then you shut it off and start it and everything is fine until the next time...doesnt happen at any certain rpms...was wondering if anyone could give me some technical advice....he is selling for very cheap so would be willing to put some money in it.....

 

when you say shut down do you mean the engines just dies or do you lose all power if its just the engine shutting down like you hit the engine stop switch I would check the pulser coils to start check them for resistance before you run it and then again when the bike dies

 

well...it dies like you hit a kill switch...could it maybe the tip sensor malfunctioning? like when you lay a bike over?

 

if you just let it sit there and idle how long will it run before it dies?

 

it kinda depends...it does it when it wants to....

 

well i figured it out....it was the cam position sensor thanks for your help
