70 mph sand storm takes finsih off of bike
That's right, 70 mph sand storm in SE Washington state. It came on fast, it was ugly, and it lifted the front end of a HD in front of me in the air, toppled a VW, and pushed a Nissan into a bridge rail. Tumble weeds the size of the bike were hitting me all the time, and there was no where to go, no where to take shelter. My entire helmet was filled with gravel. Anyway the finish on the bike looks like it was sand blasted. Well it was.
My question is this. How deep can I buff this paint to bring some of the luster back? Is the paint just so deep, or is it in the plastic itself meaning it goes all the way through. If anyone knows please respond.
Thanks,
jg

Sounds like your going to end up painting, sorry ! You might be able to make it shine a lil w/buffing, but as soon as the clear coat is damaged (which is very thin) it never gonna look right. Going to be hard to even buff much on the plastics cuz you'll burn the edges pretty easy trying to get to solid color. Maybe you should look at it as a good excuse to get a custom paint job ! Some pics might help too.
