Default +4 sprocket

My bikes booked in to get a +4 sprocket and chain next week. Just wondering how much it will affect my bike (its a F4).
Cheers

It'll be a handful -- might want to watch that right hand carefully the first few times out.

The guy at the honda dealer told me +3 will go abit better but a +4 will make a big difference in acceleration. Since I'm not that interested in top speed it sounded good. I asked about rideability and he told me it wont be any harder to ride. Was he just trying to make the sale??

Rideability will be especially herky-jerky in 1st and 2nd -- if your throttle response is kinda iffy now you'll really be able to tell it with the +4. But if you're smoothe with the throttle you shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah going +4 in the rear will be pretty jerky. I went -1 in the front (which relates to about +2/+3 in the rear) and it will be a little more of a kick in the pants in 1st and 2nd. Once you get used to it you'll love it though, and you'll definately be poppin that front tire up a lot easier.

I went -1 +3, LOVED IT...

Also was -2 +3 for a while, but sold that sprocket... -1 +3 is the best for a 600 lol...

In case anyone was wondering I ended up getting -1 at the front as my honda dealer couldn't get anything else. They ****ed me around with fitting it so I ended up doing it myself. The sprocket was easy as but fitting the new chain gave me a headache. I definately feel that 1st and 2nd have more pick up, I can't wait to go for a cruise with some other bikes to see how it compares.

I have been very happy with my -1/+1. I don't know why they tried selling you on the +4. Probably to force you to get a bigger chain and get a bigger sale. I used my stock chain with my sprocket changes.
