2nd gear probs.

RE: 2nd gear probs.
I had a similar issue with second gear...although my gears never stuck. Very likely to bea worn shift forkand rounded gears. The sticking gears might imply something up with the shift shaft, shaft arm, or spring - all pieces of the external shifting assembly. Shift forks and external shift assembly can be reached and replaced with the bike together, at least on my F3. Those can be replacedwith out too much headache....butrounded gears, that will get expensive because (most likely) the motor will have to get pulled and torn downto reach them, and you will probably have to replace at least amating pair. Best of luck.

recently developed "similiar issue" except mine can "pop/hit neutral" in second/third/4th/5th..
its only when i'm screamin thru the rpms it happens, 8000--10,500 before this happens,,{captian crash}
think it might just be the output shaft with the front sprocket missing a tooth??
its a real b@#$% to be on the bottle and this happens, nos dosent understand the gas has throttle's been cut and theres a
hair delay before whats in the intakes/chambers gets used, in otherwords really working on not throwing all internal parts
through every side of the bike.because it comes out of gear.,

RE: 2nd gear probs.
captin crash is right on! it is either a bent shift fork and/or worn (dog ears) gears. This is a common problem with second gear as it is the longest throw with the shifting lever. This is caused by either missed shifts, or hard slamming shifts. If you are a experienced mechanic you can fix this for a cost of about $40 for the fork. If you are not a mechanic be prepared to shell out about $800-1000 bucks.
