Default Newb...and have probs

Hey my fellow F3 owners I just picked a 98 F3 with 12,000 mi. for $1000. I recently sold my 93 GSX-R 750 and didnt stay out of the motorcycle scene for long. I now have to admit I have not clue about the tech stuff on the CBR and I bought the bike with some problems. I have spark and im spraying ether in the carbs I just rebuilt (thought the gixxer was hard to remove the carbs....wow) and it will fire and run for a sec. The plugs are new but, they seem to foul real easy and it has to sit for a while before it will get fire again. I believe the problem is the ignition pulse generator.....I just have no clue where it is. Is it the light black module under the right side of the seat in the tail plastics? I work on cars all the time and that looks like the POS ignition module that is on cars that always gives problems. Also has anyone put a MSD 6AL on one of these bikes before and if so did you notice a difference? Thanks for the help.
