Hi guys, I've bought a 2003 recently and it's got a little problem, it's a stock bike with only 5000 miles and not been messed with.
It's running rough/ erratic on idle and will eventually stall, starts 1st time when cold no problem, the battery is fully charged and stands at 12.6 volts, the stator is testing ok also the regulator, I'm getting 14.2 volts charging on idle, I've tested the tps and the figures are within tolerance, and the fuel is nice and fresh! On a ride it's fine, no misfire no bogging down and only an issue on idle,
I haven't replaced the plugs but it doesn't feel like a spark issue.
any advice would be appreciated as I'm a little lost for direction.
What I would look for is an elektrical problem.
I have the 954 version and there is a special connector under the seat that when shorted gives fault codes.
Does the 600 have that too?
Does your engine fault light blink when it starts to run very rough?
Do you smell a lot of gas coming out of the exhaust?

A little update! I've sprayed the throttle bodies with some intake cleaner and its 99% better, it still splutters occasionally but it will give it a further clean. It now can idle at 1000 rpm without stalling.
Warmed up idle speed should be a bit higher, I think. Try messing with the idle adjuster and see if you can get it to hold steady closer to 1,300 rpms...
Just an update for anyone that's got the same problem, I completely cleaned the throttle bodies and the spluttering has now gone! Whilst I was stripped down I replaced the spark plugs as a just incase!
