dies at idle?

Default dies at idle?

So even when my bike is hot and warmed up it is dying at idle unless i give it a little bit of choke, and then it idles just fine. What should I fix or change to solve this problem.

What doyour idle RPM's look like? Setting should be 1200RPM + or - 100. If it's set correctly and still dying at idle, something's out of whack. Could be a number of different things... most likely your carbs are out of synch, or need to be cleaned. BTW, idle screw is located on the left side of the bike, just behind the fuel valve.

ill be running some sea-foam in it tomorrow and adjusting the idle screw then. thanks! its idling at about 900 before dieing.

I took my bike apart and cleaned it yesterday, checked the plugs and im not sure what else i did, but after i put it back together, i started it and its idiling at over 5000RPM, can i see the idle screw without taking any fairings off ? Whats Sea-Foam?

Osama: Yea it is sticking out just under the fuel shutoff and a little bit to the forward of the bike. about 3/4 in round. Its the only thing sticking out that looks like you can move it.

Well, thats why i took the bike apart to clean to begin with. To find and clean or replace the air filter, but i cant find the damn thing. Any help would be appreciated.

The air filter is located under the tank [sm=signs003.gif]

be careful when adjusting your idle screw its maybe 2 to 4 full turns n it can come loose n its a biatch to get back in .

Thanks, I got the bike to idle right at about 1200 RPM. Ill check other posts to try and find out how to get to the airfilter and clean or change it.
