2002 CBR600f - driving me nuts!!
New member alert
I'm here for advice from people who know their cbr's - since every garage I've contacted is scratching their head saying they have no idea what it is!!
Bought a super-low mileage 2002 cbr600f a couple of months ago - total of 6900 miles, but had only travelled 700 miles in the 10 years with it's previous owner. Wondering now if that what because of the constant crazy, annoying whining sound. I have a clip/recording which I will try to attach later. This whining is loud and constant at all speeds, even when stationary. It doesn't change when the clutch is pulled in. Gets louder and more high pitched the higher the revs. I've had 2 cbr600f's previously and they didn't do this - despite one mechanic saying 'they all do this'. It has got to the point I'm embarrassed out on the bike and my after market can is fairly loud, but not loud enough to drown it out.
Bike runs OK, bit jerky at low revs/speeds - but I'm not spending any more dosh on it until I can quieten it down.
Has anyone here experienced this noise and managed to identify it please?
Thanks in advance - apologies for long thread - women can't half waffle!!
