Default 100F Wiring

Can anyone assist with a decent wiring diagram for a 2001 1000F?

I have replaced the fan with a a similar , but not original unit, and cannot get it to switch off. Negs are bridged and Pos. direct to plug.

This is a project bike.

could it be that the fan switch is faulty, keeping the fan going? Only a thought, but try activating the fan with a battery direct to the terminals on the bench and then remove the wires. If the fan then stops, it looks like the fan switch is the problem.

Most thermo-couples/thermosisters ground (-) to frame when turning the fan on.
Everything runs hot (+), seriel from the fan.
You should be running the hot to the fan and then a bridge/jumper from the fan to
the thermo-couple.

Won't swear to it on your bike, but that is the typical arrangement.

Hope that helps, Ern

Default 1000F wiring

Thanks Em
That's pretty much how I had it. Runs direct from plug on wiring harness when IGN switched on. Bridge to thermo-switch makes no diff connected or not. A head scratcher.
