Default 10% Ethanol

Last time I filled up, the gas station near me uses 10% Ethanol. I didn't pay much attention to it when doing it. It seems to run fine. Are there any dangers with running this in my F4i?

BTW- I've run a search on this board and came up w/ 1 comment on Ethanol, but not much said about the pros/ cons. I already know that its an additive made from corn and ADVERTISED to be safe.

10% will probably run o.k. but if possible I'd stay away from the stuff. E85 is an absolute no-no! Most cars made in the last 10 years have sensors that will retard the timing a bit to deal with different ratios of alcohol but our bikes do not (not sure about CA models).

I am by no means an expert, but here in Iowa it's highly promoted. The 10% ethanol typically is sold at a higher octane and the real seller is that you can find it for up to 10 cents cheaper per gallon. I've heard that it's not good for little two cycle engines so I don't use it on my chainsaw or weedeater, but I've never heard of anybody having problems with the bigger motors - and Everybody here buys it.

Comet, I think it could be bad for 2 strokes,'cause its "oxygenated".meaning it can run abit leaner.( hey, out there... how much????)
ALKY cars, (racers) have much larger jets... and they tend to run cooler... and make great power(setup right). What about additional aditives present???? Fluffy gas !!!!!!!!!!!! Come on everybody, w/ tech and experiance chime in please!!!!!!!!!! Good post, as I'm sure, ethonal, will become much more availible. Now the "shine" is on the inside too!!!!!!!!!! Clean and free, Ripp'n
