Is your Headlight harness connected

 

 

What i was thinking about is the BAS which is part of that harness

 

Ohh, is that infront of the air filter? And how do I check it?

 

at this stage all you have to do is by-pass it,it has a 3 pin connector going to it, it has a White wire ,a Green wire and a Red wire with a trace in it , connect a jumper wire to the two outer wires on the connector (Green and Red wires ) that's it by-passed

 

 

Daft question but is there any fuel in the tank, and does the pump prime, would also check for spark now

 

Yes there is some new fuel in the tank and no the only noise it makes is that faint ticking noise. Where would I check for spark?

 

You need to get the spark plug out , put it back in the coil stick and earth it on the frame , keeping your hands away from the plug , turn the engine over and see if you get a spark at the electrode, have you got the workshop manual
